Wonder Woman’s Lasso of Truth:
After I wrote Hestia Prytantis, I started thinking about what Hestia would be like in today’s world.
Then I found this blog post that talks about Wonder Woman’s Lasso of Truth being a gift from Hestia.
There is a book called Hestia Strikes A Match, and again, after the idea in yesterday’s blog of striking a match as an instant hearth & and petition, that title took hold of my imagination.
Hestia Strikes A Match
She is the Sacred Flame
And no stranger to bonfires.
She who is present in every hearth, every offering,
She burns in the flames of Government and State.
She will not hestitate
Hestia will light and throw a Molotov cocktail
To protect people against tyranny and injustice
We forget that she fought Titans
And for Her services in that single war,
She was allowed to live life on Her terms forevermore.
Once veiled,
Now she wraps or wears a beanie or a bonnet,
Once robed,
Today, she is happy in working boots.
You can see her dancing beside fires all over the world,
Helping to build shelters,
Caring for orphans,
Greeting ambassadors at state banquets.
She is still here.
Strike a match and whisper Her Name.
She is still listening.
She still hears.
She still acts.
