15th World Naked Gardening Day
Somehow… I have missed the fact that World Naked Gardening Day is *also* the first Saturday in May.
The same day as World Labyrinth Day.
I’m not sure how I failed to put this together previously. 🙂
They suggest two courses of action:
Two suggestions for World Naked Gardening Day.
First of all, on the first Saturday of May, find an opportunity to get naked and do some gardening. Do so alone, with friends, with family, with your gardening club, or with any other group collected for that purpose. Do it inside your house, in your back yard, on a hiking trail, at a city park, or on the streets. Stay private or go public. Make it a quiet time or make it a public splash. Just get naked and make your part of the botanical world a healthier and more attractive place.
Secondly, tell someone about your experience. No one owns this event, so it does not really matter whom you tell, but tell someone . Tell your friends about your day of naked gardening; write down what you thought of it and email it to your local newspaper; post your thoughts and images onto an Internet site; submit stories and photos to your club newsletter.
The Naturist Society has been a leader in promoting body acceptance and nude recreation for more than 20 years.
“Officially, The Naturist Society was formed in 1980. Unofficially, however, it goes back much further, to the American “free beach” movement of the 1970s and, earlier still, to a back-to-nature ethos that emerged in Europe during the industrial revolution.

Naked Gardening in Cinema
“Off the Map” (2003) is a 2003 drama film directed by Campbell Scott.
The main characters enjoyed at-home nudity including naked gardening, as seen in the movie trailer.
I actually like the idea of World Naked Gardening Day.
I will say that it is a bit cold in my particular area of the Southern Hemisphere.
I’m also a bit too self conscious (neighbours, suburbia, all of that!).
Separate things, but we do seem to have such a perverse culture of shame around both.
I would *really* like to have that kind of confidence however!
