Book Review: “The Way of the Gods: Polytheism(s) Around the World”, Edward Butler
This sounds like some fascinating reading.
I have often had to pull people up when they attempted to view my practice through the lens of “all roads lead to Rome / to the Mountain / to the Divine”.
The approach of universal singularity is inherently monotheistic.
It insists that at the source (often capitalised as ‘The Source’), all are one.
That is not polytheism.
It’s important to spend some time thinking about where your thoughts are on this, and how that is reflected in your practice.
This book sounds like a great place to start unpacking that.
